  1. Compare the author’s descriptions of the sounds of the church bells the moment Johnny finds the broken figurine of his father and then after he and Aunt Ivy glue him back together.
  2. Even though Aunt Ivy doesn’t believe that Johnny’s soldiers are foretelling outcomes of the war, she humours him to make him feel better.  What does it mean to humour someone.  How does Aunt Ivy humour Johnny?
